Bulgaria and Romania joined the Union in 2007. Slovenia will hold the presidency of the EU Council in 2008. Visa request procedures have been relaxed. European Commissioner Olli Rhen said the future of the western Balkans is in Europe (4 October 2007 speech). The Balkan Trafik festival lends support to this message and wants to bring Brussels into focus, a European Capital open to all cultures.

The festival will turn into a real "cultural powder keg” to give a positive and human image of the Balkans.

The success of the last edition tells us that this initiative proves relevant for the audience but also for the media and the institutions that support our project in ever-increasing numbers.

Artists from all over the Balkans and elsewhere will sweep into the Centre for fine arts all week-end. The best artists of the moment - brass bands, traditional bands, rock, electro… - will be there. So who will liven things up the most? And for a world’s first the music project Tirana / Brussels and the circus show Balkan Zirkus.eu.

There will be wine tastings, grills, circus and dance workshops, unreleased movies, flight tickets, exhibitors, juggling…in one word: a great party!
